DESCRIPTIONWe mainly research the legal, economic, ethic, logistic, and social aspects of equine therapies. We have organized various courses for therapists and instructors, at all levels, from initial to master. We have provided hippotherapy and equine assisted psychotherapy for several years, and then we moved to a new stable. Now we are organizing the new services, although most of them are not active yet. We are also active in the social equine therapy as well as in leisure, sports and educative activities assisted by horses. We are promoting the REDEQUI cooperation project: an international network of pedagogic farms based on equine therapies, which uses tourism as a source of income to support the therapeutic team and extend accessibility to poor people. We held also some programmes of therapeutic driving and vaulting, and we are preparing riders for adapted equestrian sports.

DESCRIPTIONThe Therapeutic Horsemanship practitioner course is designed for those who wish to lead groundwork-based equine activities that promote mental health and emotional well-being. It covers all the knowledge and skills required to run a Therapeutic Horsemanship session including planning the session, choosing a suitable horse (or assisting a participant in choosing a horse), delivering the bulk of the instruction, supervising assistants and being accountable for the overall safety and wellbeing of all involved. During a Therapeutic Horsemanship session, the practitioner’s focus is largely on watching how the participant interacts with the horse and being ready to provide instruction, help a participant identify an emotion or offer a relevant life metaphor for a given situation. It is also the job of the practitioner to oversee the care, welfare and training of the horses involved.
